Ongoing maintenance, repair, and performance modifications for off-road vehicle optimization and reliability improvement
My first car was a 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ, the five-speed with the 4.0 straight six engine. I loved the car and drove it everywhere, all the time. Being a 20 year old car that had lived in the Northeast its whole life, it frequently needed maintenance, and when the time came for fixes, if they were in my wheelhouse, I loved making the repairs and servicing what needed to be serviced. Regular maintenance included replacing oil and filter, topping off fluids, and servicing brakes by replacing brake pads, rotors, and brake shoes. More involved repairs included replacing gaskets, with one memorable project involving installing a new intake and exhaust gasket kit to keep the reliable 4.0 engine running smoothly.
